MAXITY
MAXITY
Born from a collaboration between Renault Trucks, La Poste and Symbio, Maxity is the first hydrogen fuel electric powered lorry in Europe.
Approved and registered, it has proven itself in both rural and urban areas: initially launched in Dole district (Jura Department) in 2015 to deliver mail to post offices in the region, it now ensures La Poste deliveries in Paris.
Its success and user feedback confirmed the relevance of the hydrogen solution to this segment of vehicles.
Minimise the system’s size and mass to maintain maximum volume with sufficient load, while ensuring good range performance.
This was the main challenge of the Maxity Hydrogen Project. Symbio successfully addressed it. Consequently:
Thanks to Symbio’s Hydrogen Solution, Maxity’s fuel cell loads in only 3-4 minutes.
The lorry’s range is also multiplied by 2.5: during real conditions of use in summer and winter it shifts from 85 km when electrically operated to 250 km with the Symbio range extender, because the heat released by the cell is used to heat the lorry’s passenger compartment (the heating being turned on does not impact the range of the vehicle).
